Farmářské tržiště

When the last Prague market at Pankrác was closed in 2006, a citizen's initiative started to renew the direct contact between producers and customers. They tried to return the fresh local products to the market.

In 2007 the citizen cooperation Archetyp made a study for the Magistrate of the capital of Prague, whose aim was to find suitable places for such markets. There were 17 of them and some are used until today.

Later in 2010, the Archetyp succeeded in starting three new markets in Prague: Kubáň, Náplavka and Jiřák.

On the markets you can enjoy both the fresh products and the contacts with producers. You can buy fresh vegetables according to the season: the moment potatoes, onions both yellow and white and sometimes red, or Greek, onion and leaves, parsley, red and white cabbage, kale, iceberg lettuce, lettuce, Lollo Biondo and Lollo rosso, fresh herbs , radishes, broccoli, Patissons, carrots, celery, cauliflower, leek, pumpkins, cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes and cherry tomatoes, garlic.

You can also buy fresh seasonal fruit: currently the last cherries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, apples.

Further more you can buy flowers such as gladiolas, cow, goat and sheep dairy, especially cheeses, fresh fish - perch, carp, eel - grilled meat and sausages, eggs from alternative and domestic breeds, domestic mushrooms, honey, seasoning, and freshly drawn milk directly from the dairy machine, and sometimes handmade anything.
